Brewery strike called off

Members of the T&G general union at Carlsberg's Northampton brewery have resolved their dispute with the company over pay and restructuring (see last month's Workplace Report).

The workers voted to accept a jointly developed proposal that includes a 2.3% pay rise for all union members, backdated to August, alongside new working patterns and more flexible working practices.

T&G branch chairman Alan Shortt said he was pleased to have reached "a good agreement which delivers tangible benefits for all our members".
