Laptop payout

Drivers for gas firm Transco have won compensation after they were injured while using company laptop computers.

The drivers, who were backed in their claim by the GMB general union, used laptops fitted into their vans to locate gas mains and log callouts. The laptops were fixed to the bottom of the passenger seat by a short security leash, so the drivers had to twist and turn to use them. They made their employers aware that they were suffering back pain as a result, but no action was taken.
