Industrial action looms at Innovia

Workers at manufacturing firm Innovia Films have rejected the "job security" pay offer outlined in last month's Workplace Report.

The offer was opposed in a ballot by 77% of union members.

A vote on industrial action received 75% support for action short of a strike. An overtime ban is the most likely outcome, but the GMB general union's senior Cumbria organiser Helen Vassie expressed the hope that the company would re-open talks and make another offer.
