Cortes re-elected

Manuel Cortes has been returned for a second term as general secretary of the TSSA white collar transport union. He took 66% of the votes to 34% for challenger Wayne Geoghegan. Turnout was 18.9%.

Cortes said the challenge now was to strengthen the union, which marks its 120th anniversary this year.

“Having put our union on a strong financial footing, now is the time to consolidate by directing our resources into making our union grow,” he said.
