UNISON award


Public services union UNISON’s outstanding legal success in the Supreme Court overturning the government over employment tribunal fees has won the union a prestigious award. 


The union’s in-house legal team was voted Litigation Team of the Year in The Lawyer magazine’s annual awards for “great tenacity and perseverance and a result that makes a real difference to a great many people”.


UNISON’s four-year legal battle to reverse that decision spanned six unsuccessful hearings in the High Court and the Court of Appeal before the Supreme Court unanimously found in the union’s favour.
