Further and higher education staff ballot for new union leader

Balloting is underway in the 108,000-strong UCU university and college union in the election for a new general secretary to replace Sally Hunt, who resigned the post in February for health reasons. The election for the leadership position involves one UCU full-time official and two lay members. 


Matt Waddup is the head of policy and campaigns, while Dr Jo Grady, of the University of Sheffield, and Jo McNeill, of the University of Liverpool, are both on the union’s national executive committee. McNeill stood against Hunt at the last leadership election.


Voting closes on Thursday 23 May.
