Union targets young workers

Shopworkers' union USDAW is focusing on young workers in a campaign to alert them to their rights and to win improvements in the National Minimum Wage (NMW).

With thousands of 16-17-year-olds busy with summer jobs, the union is carrying out a survey of young workers' pay. It is also circulating a leaflet setting out their legal rights on pay and hours. This includes information on other entitlements such as the education maintenance allowance.

The survey can be completed online at http://www.usdaw.org.uk/surveys/1124372351_8020.jsp and the pay rights leaflet is available in the Get Active part of the USDAW website.
