Fifteen of the files arise from the criminal investigation into the causes of the Hillsborough disaster. Potential offences include gross negligence manslaughter, perverting the course of justice, misconduct in public office, as well as offences under the Safety of Sports Ground Act 1975 and Health and Safety at Work legislation.
