Job losses at EHRC

Compulsory redundancy notices were issued to 10 staff at the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) earlier this month as members of the PCS and Unite civil service unions took their fifth day of strike action over redundancies and budget cuts. The 10 individuals were given just 24 hours to clear their desks.

The redundancies come as part of massive budget cuts which the PCS and Unite are fighting.

PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka said: “There is no need to force staff out of their jobs and we will continue to fight these redundancies.”
