The Unite general union has also won a 2.5% across the board rise at pharmaceutical multinational, GlaxosmithKline’s seven manufacturing sites around the UK; at aerospace firm Vector Aerospace’s sites in Scotland and the south east; and at Wakefield and District Housing Company (WDH) in the community and non-for-profit sector.

Meanwhile, transport union RMT has won 2.6% pay rises for UK Bulk Handling Services Ltd workers on the docks, as well as ferry workers at Serco Northlink Ferries in Guernsey.

These new deals have been settled at or around the RPI inflation rate which averaged 2.6% during 2019.
