HSE and HSC consult on proposed merger

The Health and Safety Commission is carrying out a public consultation on proposals to merge it and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) into a single health and safety authority.

If a new board is created, hazards campaigners want seats to be provided for rank-and-file safety campaigners and victims' organisations, reflecting the vital work of these groups.

The consultation can be downloaded from www.hse.gov.uk/consult/live.htm, with hard copies available by calling HSE Books on 01787 881165. The deadline for responses is 5 March.
