Anglian Water adopts broad banding
All Anglian Water Services employees received a pay rise of 3% with effect from 1 April. April also saw the launch of a new pay structure based on the 'broad band' approach, which had already been piloted for senior managers.
The settlement features broad "total" salary bands ranging from employees "developing into a new role" to those who "attract a premium rate". Most employees, however, will fall into narrower 'standard' salary ranges. "Total" salary range salaries go from £9,270-£15,500 up to £28,840-£46,900 under the new structure. As part of the pay deal, standby and callout allowances were also increased, giving a weekly standby allowance of £79.44, and call-out rates of up to £31.54 (up to £44.63 for employees above the overtime limit). An existing team bonus is expected to yield pay-outs of £380 in June (subject to the company's financial results).
