State pension phone line

It should now be easier for people to ensure they claim their state pension on time with the launch of a new telephone claim line. On the basis of evidence from a three-year pilot project in London the Department of Social Security (DSS) believes that this should make the whole process simpler and reduce the need to go back to people for more information. The service is available from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday for those who have received their retirement pack from the DSS. The number is 0845 300 1084.
