Boardroom seat for Major

The former Conservative prime minister John Major has taken up his first boardroom seat in a UK company since his party's 1997 election defeat. He has become a part-time director of the Mayflower Corporation which designs and manufactures car bodies and cabs for commercial vehicles, buses and sports cars. The appointment became effective from 1 January 2000.
