Cheaper air fares and cars reduce inflation

Inflation eased in September on the back of cheaper air fares and second hand cars. It fell from 3.2% the previous month to 3.1%.

The Consumer Prices Index (CPI), which excludes housing costs, fell from 1.3% to 1.1%. Cheaper food, especially fresh vegetables, and telephone services helped the cut.
