ETUC plans demo in March

The European Trade Union Confederation plans a demonstration in Brussels on 19 March on the eve of the next European summit.

Its main demands are for increased employment, resistance to the so-called Bolkestein directive on the internal market in services, which unions fear will lead to worsening conditions for those in the public sector, and improved social rights in Europe.
