Boxers' union

The GMB general union has established a "union for boxers" under its sports section, which already houses the Rugby League Players' Association.

The British Boxers Association is to be "an independent, progressive and financially strong association, which can speak and act on behalf of boxers," according to the GMB. It has appointed Micky Cantwell, former British Flyweight Champion, as full-time director of organisation.
