New learning centre for car parts firm

GMB general union members at car part makers G Clancey's in Halesowen are benefiting from a new onsite learning centre.

Steve Meakin, branch secretary and learning rep, said: "We knew we should be doing something to address the learning situation in our workplace as foundry workers often do not get much access to training and learning opportunities. So we decided at the branch meeting that it would form part of the 2002 pay deal and this was successfully negotiated."
