Polish minimum wage rise
The Polish President last month agreed to new arrangements intended to push up the relative value of the national minimum wage (NMW).
The NMW will be uprated by forecast inflation plus two-thirds the rate of the increase in GDP (national output). The long-term aim is to increase it to 50% of national average earnings from the current 35%.
In cash terms the monthly rate will increase from 849 zloty (£143) a month to 889 zloty (£150).
The OPZZ union confederation estimates that some 4% of Polish employees receive the minimum wage.
