Unions urged to seize organising opportunity

Informed, Consulted, Organised! Is the title of an interactive CD-ROM produced by the TUC in the light of the Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations 2004, which came into force earlier this month.

The CD-ROM should help union reps and stewards understand the new regulations - which, the TUC says, offer an organising aid in non-unionised workplaces. Employers of more than 150 staff are now required to set up systems to allow meaningful dialogue between managers and employees, if 10% of employees request them.

The CD-ROM, which comes with a video clip, a PowerPoint presentation and briefing documents, is available free to reps from Hind Gharbaoui on 020 7467 1361.
