Morrison's deal

Managers and supervisors at supermarket chain Morrisons have gained their own collective agreement which they say will help union recruitment at the retailer. SATA, the white-collar section of shopworkers' union USDAW, will be entitled to its own reps who will have paid time off for union training and their own national consultative body.

The union's general secretary, John Hannett, welcomed the deal, saying: "USDAW needs more union reps - I cannot over-estimate the important role they play in terms of representation and recruitment."
