Lyons verdict delay

A decision on whether government inspectors will investigate the finances of the MSF manufacturing, science and finance union was put off last month.

The government certification officer is considering a report by the union's accountants, HW Fischer, who have been investigating alleged financial irregularities. The report was presented on 5 June but the certification officer wanted more to time to consider it and follow up some of the matters raised.

He will make a decision before the end of this month.
