Minimum wage for night watchmen

The Court of Session in Scotland has upheld the findings of an Employment Appeal Tribunal decision on the pay rights of night watchmen. The court said that a night watchman had the right to be paid at the national minimum wage for the whole of the period of a shift, even though he could sleep, watch television or read when not performing specified tasks.
