European Health and Safety Week

European Health and Safety Week is an annual event in October designed to raise awareness of health and safety. For 2002, the theme of the week is stress at work and it runs in Britain from 14 to 20 October.

There is a special page on the TUC website at www.tuc.org.uk devoted to the week and this year, the TUC has retained Keighley-based community health organisation Worksafe to plan and run the stress campaign in the build up to the European Week. Unions and individual branches planning activities should contact Worksafe at [email protected] and let them know what they are doing so details can be publicised. The week is run in Britain by the Health and Safety Executive which also has a dedicated web page at www.hse.gov.uk/euro_week.
