NASUWT wins payouts

Teachers' union the NASUWT has won compensation of around £150,000 for two members in the Nottingham area.

A technology teacher with over 20 years' experience had to retire after exposure to wood dust, formaldehyde and urea, which led to nasal obstruction, headaches, nasal discharge and the eventual diagnosis of rhinosinusitis.

And a primary school teacher suffered voice loss after working for three years in an overheated Victorian classroom with no ventilation. She developed cysts, which caused permanent damage to her voice box.
