Construction regulations are reviewed

The Health and Safety Commission (HSC) has begun a consultation on proposals to revise the Construction (Health Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1996 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994.

The HSC is also consulting on new procedures for workplace incident reporting. Although its discussion document contains no formal proposals for changing the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR) it identifies areas where changes may be made.
