Workers stop 'Big Brother' monitoring

Strike action and an overtime ban led to the resolution of a dispute in Leicester over taking breaks. Management at chemicals company Trelleborg wanted workers to wear red tags when away from their normal place of work, such as for breaks and lunch. The eighty-four workers, members of T&G general union took action after management refused to withdraw the scheme. Further pressure from the T&G settled the dispute and the tags have been withdrawn.
