Construction deaths demo

Construction workers staged a demonstration outside the HSE's construction health and safety summit last month.

Over 100 construction workers marched through London, carrying a coffin to symbolise the 300 building workers killed since the last HSE summit four years ago.

Alan Ritchie, general secretary of construction union UCATT, said staging another "talking shop" would be a "waste of time", and called for the introduction of a corporate killing law and protection for safety reps.
