Scottish safety campaign launched

A campaign highlighting the union safety effect in Scottish workplaces was launched at the STUC's annual congress in April.

STUC health and safety assistant secretary Ian Tasker said the role of safety reps in workplaces was well-documented. He added that the STUC is "seeking to ensure that maximum protection is afforded to non-union members, and we will be calling for funding for a "Scottish Hazards" campaign to promote improved health and safety and the importance of trade union membership in protecting workers in the workplace".
