New guidance on accident investigation

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published a new guide to investigating accidents and incidents, including near misses.

However, TUC safety officer Hugh Robertson said: "We are disappointed that there is still no explicit statutory duty to investigate accidents, despite widespread support when the HSC consulted on the issue in 2001."
