Asbestos judgment will be overturned

Tony Blair has promised to try to overturn a recent judgment by the House of Lords (see last month’s Labour Research) which could drastically limit compensation for sufferers of the asbestos-related disease mesothelioma.

“I regret that judgment,” Blair told the GMB general union’s congress last month. “If we can change it, we will. I hope to announce something on this in a couple of weeks.”
