After a long period with no presence on the world wide web, the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) has recently launched a well designed website, although some parts are still under construction.

The site uses specially written software enabling non-IT staff to add to, and change the website, so updating can be more frequent. It is also pretty user-friendly, with clear menus to guide you through different areas.

The site has a section on the STUC's 2003 Congress, where you can access selected speeches, motions, composites and other conference documents. There are also reports and documents from other STUC conferences, like the annual Black Workers' Conference.

The site includes a dedicated equalities section, with information on the various STUC committees and forums dealing with equalities issues.

And the site is particularly strong on STUC responses to government Bills or consultations, helping members keep track of the STUC's policy positions.

There is a useful links section, which ranges from official government documents to employment rights websites and a directory of affiliates. The site also has information on the history and structure of the STUC, and how to join a union.
