Getting attached - New routes to full employment
Max Nathan, Fabian Society, 11 Dartmouth Street, London SW1H 9BN, 36 pages, £6.95
This booklet argues that the New Deal has been very successful in getting more than 300,000 people into new jobs, but that if Britain is to achieve full employment, there is need for an "attachment agency" to help overcome the instability at the bottom end of the jobs market. All clients would have a "personal adviser".
