Southern Cross

Following the collapse of the Southern Cross care home operator, the GMB union has been supplied with a list of prospective operators who will take over 691 homes. However, no new operators have been identified for up to 64 care homes.

GMB national officer Justin Bowden said: “Improving the quality of care for residents should be the paramount aim which in turn must lead to policies which reduce staff turnover for better continuity.”
