Tory threat to unions
Dave Prentis, general secretary of public services union UNISON, accused the Conservative Party of “reverting to type” by threatening to tighten anti-union laws.
Tory leader David Cameron told the Daily Telegraph newspaper he would be “very happy” to strengthen the law to stop public sector workers staging walkouts over his plan for a wage freeze.
Prentis said: “This is typical of Cameron’s Tories who are reverting to type.” He added: “Instead of attacking their rich friends in the city who caused the recession, they turn their fire on ordinary hard-working public servants.”
