German union membership

After years of falling membership, unions in Germany’s main union confederation, the DGB have reported a virtually unchanged membership position for 2012.

The eight DGB unions entered 2012 with 6,156,000 members. At the end of the year they had 6,151,000 — just 5,000 fewer, representing a 0.1% decline.
