Probation service settlement
NAPO the probation service union has agreed a two-year deal giving 2% in 2008-09 and 2.3% for 2009-10. The deal brings to an end two parallel pay disputes with the government over pay progression and conditions.
“We stood our ground and got as good a deal as we could have hoped for,” said Jonathan Ledger, Napo general secretary. Individual rises will be 5% or above, because of a 3% increment this year as a result of modernised pay bands.
