Cuts to the frontline

Frontline defence will be severely compromised if as reported the government cuts another 10,000 jobs from the Ministry of Defence, civil service union PCS has warned.

The union has put forward a number of suggestions to the employer which would save money without damaging essential frontline support. PCS is highly critical of the defence secretary’s announcement which fails to explain who will do the work if more jobs are axed.
