Regulations push up negotiated leave

Increased leave entitlement now provided under the Working Time Regulations is feeding through to negotiated agreements. Bus company Stagecoach (Hants and Surrey) awarded an additional three days’ holiday pay per year to all drivers (along with a 2.5% pay increase). This raised the basic entitlement (contract C) to 28 days including eight bank holidays (pro-rata for four-day week lines) under the first stage of a two-year pay settlement. Drivers on contract A get 33 days or 38 for pre-1997 staff.
