Odeon cinemas pay 2.7%

Staff at Odeon cinemas will received a 2.7% pay rise backdated to January 2008, followed by a 3% increase from January 2009. However, if the CPI stays at 5% or above this month and next month then the 2009 increase will rise to 3.5%.

Earlier in the year management suspended pay talks in a dispute over payroll. A previous offer of 2.1% was rejected by 95% of union members.

BECTU broadcasting union national official Lou George said: “BECTU members covered by the recognition agreement at Odeon have received a significantly better pay offer than non-unionised staff.”
