Solving problems at work – new Code of Practice

Discipline and grievance procedures in the workplace changed on 6 April 2009. The emphasis is now on solving problems early on with a minimum of cost and formality. The Acas advisory and conciliation service has issued a new Code of Practice. Where an employer fails to follow this, a compensation award from a tribunal could be increased by up to 25%.
