Disaffected staff at Remploy

Workers at the Norwich Remploy factory for disabled workers are meeting over concerns that the organisation’s management are failing to try to find new contracts for the factory.

Members of the GMB general union met last week to plan action against the company’s failure to make full use of the European procurement system that could help find work for the factory. The union has reported low morale due to the company’s disinterest in making the factory successful. The 45 GMB members believe that their jobs are now at risk.

Glen Holdom, GMB organiser said: “The management is not even looking for work and that is not satisfactory. In this it is completely failing in its duty of care to the workforce.”
