Unionlearn Euro grant

The TUC’s learning and skills organisation, Unionlearn, has secured a major grant from the European Union to fund an investigation into union-led learning across the EU.

Unionlearn is leading the 12-month project, with the help of the education departments or teaching unions of six major national union confederations from Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden.

Unionlearn director Tom Wilson said the initiative could even lead in time “to a European version of Unionlearn, overseen by the ETUC”.

There will be a major conference held at Congress House in spring 2013, along with a detailed report in nine languages.
