Survey finds fewer adult learners
THE latest annual survey from the campaigning and advocacy body the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) shows that there has been a 3% fall in the number of adults participating in learning.
NIACE director, Alan Tuckett, said the findings pose “sharp challenges” for the government, particularly as two thirds of a key target group – those who have done no learning since school – agree that learning and training can have a positive impact upon their working and family lives but only 15% of them plan to get involved.
