Support is wanted for academic’s case

The May edition of Labour Research reported on the decision in the Fosh v Cardiff University case.

Professor Fosh and her representative Dr Husbands, both of whom continue to show great fortitude, have kindly emphasised to us the impact of this disappointing decision. Specifically, all employees acting as tribunal representatives (especially those who do not, as trade union reps, benefit from the protection of union discrimination provisions) are now very much more vulnerable to retaliatory action by their employers.

A legal challenge is planned to correct this decision and to seek to ensure that EU legislation preventing victimisation is reinforced and/or correctly implemented within the UK.
