Pay for holidays
When an employee on an annual salary has leave outstanding on
termination of employment, each day is worth 1/365th of their annual
salary, according to a recent Employment Appeal Tribunal case. However,
the tribunal went on to rule that an employee working a five day week,
with 10 days' holiday outstanding, has the right to be paid 14/365ths of
salary to take account of the fact that Saturday and Sunday are not
working days.
