Unions are signing up over asbestos

A petition organised by the Asbestos Victims Support Group Forum, in support of the Daily Mirror’s Asbestos Timebomb Campaign has got the support of unions and health campaigners.

The petition calls for: a National Centre for Asbestos Related Disease to investigate mesothelioma; compensation for pleural plaque victims; a public register of all asbestos surveys carried out on public buildings; and resources for the Health and Safety Executive for inspecting asbestos removal work.
