RMT ballots on Tube safety standards

The RMT union representing London Tube workers has called London Mayor Boris Johnson’s transport strategy a smokescreen for “an attack on staffing levels, ticket offices and safety standards”.

Last month, the union said it would ballot members for industrial action as part of its campaign to “fight the jobs carnage on the tube” and continue to push for safe staffing levels.
