Prison educators’ strike continues

UCU university and college union members were set to walk out of 49 prisons and young offender institutions across England last month in a continuing health and safety dispute with prison education employer Novus. The action followed two days’ strike action in May 2021.

The union says the dispute centres on a failure to meaningfully engage over Covid health and safety concerns of prison educators.
