Just transition course

A free Wales TUC course to help union reps and officers develop negotiation strategies on net-zero planning and “just transition” is being run online in October.

Negotiating for a Just Transition, based on three one-day sessions, is designed to equip trade unionists with information and ideas about how to respond strategically to the challenge of getting workers a voice on the transition to a net-zero economy.

It also aims to develop understanding of the wider impact of the green transition.

• The TUC has published a programme of trade union education courses for the coming academic year, set out by region, at www.tuc.org.uk/training.

It includes the standard offer of trade union reps and safety reps stage 1 and 2 certificates, but also courses on such diverse topics as bullying and harassment, public speaking, neurodiversity and menopause in the workplace.
